If you’re anything like me, you probably have a stack of envelopes tucked away somewhere just waiting to be used. Instead of tossing them into the recycling bin, why not turn them into beautiful, functional embellishments for your junk journals?
In this week’s tutorial, I’m sharing five creative projects you can make from ordinary envelopes. The best part? These ideas work with almost any envelope you already have in your craft stash. Whether they’re security envelopes, greeting card envelopes, or leftover mailing envelopes, you can transform them into something special.

These projects are perfect for using up scraps, adding interactive elements to your journals, and creating beautiful handmade details without spending a lot of money.
For my samples, I decorated everything using my Collage Paper No. 1 collection from my Etsy shop, along with bits of lace, ribbon, labels, and other favorite stash items. Of course, you can personalize yours with any papers and embellishments you love.
One of my favorite things about these projects is how adaptable they are. Change the size of the envelope, use different papers, or add your own embellishments, and you’ll end up with completely unique pieces every time.
