Hi, I’m Pam—the creative chaos coordinator behind Silver & Sparkles.

Before I was covered in paper scraps, lace, and glue strings, I spent more than 30 years helping people build better lives and careers. Along the way, I worked as a vocational counselor, researcher, executive director, and state agency leader, helping individuals with disabilities find opportunities, independence, and meaningful employment. I even served as Deputy Commissioner for Services with Virginia’s Department for the Blind and Vision Impaired.

These days, my office looks a little different.

Instead of policy manuals and strategic plans, you’ll find vintage papers, junk journals, scissors, coffee mugs, and stacks of “I’ll use this someday” supplies. I traded boardrooms for craft rooms and spreadsheets for scrapbook paper— I’ve never been happier.

I’m the creator behind Silver & Sparkles, where I design digital kits, create junk journal tutorials, and encourage fellow crafters to embrace creativity without worrying about perfection. My crafting style falls somewhere between “carefully planned” and “let’s see what happens if I glue this here.”

On this blog, you’ll find paper crafting tutorials, behind-the-scenes peeks into my creative business, project inspiration, creative adventures, and the occasional story about life, family, coffee, and the beautiful mess that happens when creativity takes over.

I firmly believe that art heals, creativity belongs to everyone, and there is no such thing as too many paper scraps—just future projects waiting for their moment.

So grab a cup of coffee, pull up a chair, and join me. We’re making beautiful things—and making a glorious mess while we’re at it.
